Wildlife and Nature

If you like wildlife and nature this area abounds, from deer, red squirrels, pine martens, otters, seals and all sorts of birds from woodpeckers and jays to golden eagles and maybe an osprey.

Gartnagrenach has all this and more right on its doorstep including the beaver trail and much more within Knapdale Forest Knapdale - Forestry and Land Scotland.

Walks direct from the farmhouse make it easy for you to spot the many species of wildlife, however, they may be quite shy! Nearby forest roads, walks and nature trails all with fabulous views are within easy reach of the farmhouse. Bring your binoculars and camera!

You will not be disappointed with a nature and wildlife holiday in Mid Argyll. Nearby are 2 nature reserves Moine Mhor  and Taynish

The National Trust for Scotland has 2 gardens in the Mid argyll Area, Crarae which is between Inveraray and Minard, and Arduaine on the road from Lochgilphead to Oban. On the island of Gigha you can visit Achamore Gardens,

Interested in the history of the Crinan Canal then don't forget to include a visit to the Eggshed in Ardrishaig The Egg Shed - Scottish Canals
