About Gartnagrenach
Gartnagrenach is a self catering farmhouse run by Sheena and Alasdair MacConnell. The farmhouse was Sheena's family home where she has many happy memories from growing up with her parents and brother. The house is situated in the heart of Knapdale, near Lochgilphead in rural Mid Argyll. We live close by in a neighbouring house, so are available to assist with any questions you may have or to offer suggestions for days out and how to make the most of your stay. STL Licence number AR00518F EPC rating F.
The house is a cosy bolthole, ideal for couples, families or small groups wanting a relaxing break. Somewhere to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet of our countryside. There's no need to leave your pet at home, as not only do we accept dogs, but are perfectly set up for holidays with other companions. We're also ideally located as a base for exploration and adventure for the many activities and outdoor pursuits that Argyll has to offer.
Only a stones through away is the Scottish Beaver Trail and the Argyll Beaver Centre area, where you'll have one of the best chances in the country of seeing this elusive creature on your doorstep. Lochs Coillle Bhar and Barnluasgan are just a 10 minute stroll from the house too! Whilst Crinan and its canal, Tayvallich and Kilmartin Glen are all nearby. The surrounding area is known for its ancient history, monuments and access to nature - and we can't wait to share this special place with you.
